Learning what you can do

What: Children practise first aid in realistic situations and learn how to prevent accidents.
Where: At the participating school or lesson location.
When: The groups, lesson days and times are listed with your school's activities.
Who: A specialist teacher from Skills for Kids.

Programme

What can you do if someone needs help? Through explanation and role play, children learn about different situations and the role of a helper.

Discussing situations

The instructor explains what is needed in different situations.
Hands-on practice

Children take turns being the helper and the casualty.
Preventing accidents

There is also a focus on recognising and preventing accidents.

The course is delivered by a certified instructor from a local first aid association. Where possible, a LOTUS casualty simulator (a trained mock victim) takes part in a lesson.
